Born in Antigonish, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Lives and works in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.

From 2012 to 2019, MacGrath was based in Innsbruck, Austria and Bern, Switzerland.

Though known foremost for his work as a Singer-Songwriter, Ryan has been painting since childhood. He holds a Fine Arts degree from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design University in Halifax, and has shown his paintings in various solo and group exhibitions in Canada and Europe. His work has been purchased by collectors around the globe.
